Theodore I Comnenus-Lascaris, emperor of Nicaea, 1208-1222. Aspron Trachy (Bronze, 27 mm, 3.26 g, 6 h), Nicaea, circa 1205-1212. The Virgin Mary enthroned facing, nimbate and wearing pallium and maphorium, holding before her the nimbate head of the infant Christ; to her left and right, MHP - ΘV. Rev. Theodore I standing facing on the left, wearing ditivision and loros, holding labarum in his right hand and St. Theodore, nimbate and bearded, standing facing on the right in military attire, holding spear in his left hand; both holding between them patriarchal cross; around, traces of legend. DOC 5a. SB 2061. Repatinated, otherwise, good very fine.
